James Howard Moore, born in Dew, TX on June 16, 1923, died July 8, 2005 in Conroe following a brief illness.
Howard graduated from Teague High School and Sam Houston State University. He taught agriculture in New Waverly, Willis and Conroe ISD for 30 years. He was also supervisor of the Conroe Area Vocational School for 8 years.
James is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sally Black Moore; son, Don and his wife Nita Moore of New Waverly; daughter, Sally Gattis and her husband Mike of Conroe; brother, Ayers Moore of Fairfield, TX; sister, Dollye Morgan of Dew, TX; grandchildren, Jay Moore and wife Ali of New Waverly, TX, Leann Klotz and husband Jeff Klotz of Austin, Mary Anna Metaxas of Conroe; great-grandchildren, Klein and Lawson Klotz of Austin and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held of Sunday, July 10, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral home. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Teague, TX.
Howard loved his family and all of his former students. His greatest joy was giving to others. Howard was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
