A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernard R. Doherty, 73, of Conroe will be held on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor David Kennedy celebrant. Rite of committal will follow in Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 18, 2005 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
Mr. Doherty was born on August 22, 1931 in Piston, Minnesota and passed away on August 16, 2005 in Conroe, Texas. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. For 25 years, he was a Grade A dairy farmer. An entrepreneur, he not only was vice president of Sunray Liquor, but also operated his own resale business.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Iva Doherty of Conroe; daughters, Debbie Grohman of Conroe and Marcia Daniels and husband Danny of Cleveland; sons, David Doherty, John Doherty and wife Penny, and Robert Doherty all of Conroe; sisters, Helen Van Lith and husband Donald of Kendi, Alaska and Sister Lorraine Doherty of La Crescent, Minnesota; grandchildren, Darcy Carter and husband Scott, Vicki Estrada and special friend Steven Wu, Mark Grohman, Danny Daniels II and wife Jaclyn, Duke Daniels, Melissa Daniels, Derek Daniels, Kameron and Kamden Doherty; great grandchildren, Robbie Carter, Adalee Bagley, Kyle Daniels, and Amy Daniels; aunt, Evelyn Tigen of Sioux City, Iowa. A host of other loving extended family and friends also survive.
Pallbearers are Ed Toohey, Wilbert Theriot, Peter Mess, Harvey Gorski, Steve Jung, and David Bonham.
