Mary Petra Salinas Carnot
September 15, 1915 - September 9, 2005

Mary Petra (Petie) Salinas Carnot went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on September 9, 2005, and join her beloved husband, daughter and son.

Mary was born in Floresville, Texas on September 15, 1915 to Julian Salinas and Mary Louise Mendoza. She moved to San Antonio at 16 years of age, where she resided until April, 1999, after the death of her husband, retired fire captain Joe G. Carnot. Mary moved to Conroe, Texas, two years after the death of her husband of 63 years. Mary was a strong woman in every way. Her family and her friends knew her as a faithful, caring and nurturing saint. She was a member of the San Antonio Conservation Society, helped the senior citizens of Saint Agnes Parish, nurtured and tended to her ailing neighbors and all the Carnot and Salinas relatives, by bringing food, taking them shopping and helping out in every way. She moved to Conroe, Texas and resided with her daughter, Rev. Monica (Mona) Lemmer and her caring and loving son-in-law, George. She suffered a broken hip and stroke in 2001 and by her unusual strength, survived, by prayer and faith in Jesus Christ, until her death.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe G. Carnot, daughter Norma Carnot Jackson Ray, son Richard J. Carnot, two brothers, Julian and Enrique Salinas and their wives and sister Josephine Cullison of Georgia and all her in-laws. Mary is survived by her daughter, Rev. Monica Carnot Lemmer and husband, George of Conroe, Texas, her much loved baby boy, retired Police Capt. Alfred A. Carnot and wife Francis of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughters, Cynthia Ziegler and Tate from Englewood, Colorado, Teresa Kerner of Houston, Texas, Judith and Ceasar Sanchez of Falls Church, Virginia, Jeanette Carnot of Webster, Texas, Mary Penn and husband of San Antonio, Texas; grandsons, Joe Jackson and Charlie of Universal City, Texas, R. E. Jackson and Leah of Boyd, Texas, James M. Jackson of San Antonio, Texas, Richard E. and Joseph Carnot of Houston, Texas, Brian Carnot and last but by no means least Alfred E. Carnot of San Antonio, Texas. Great grandchildren, Monica M. Patterson of Phoenix, Arizona, Kristen Pitts of Colorado, Adam Smith of Colorado, Christina and Elizabeth Fenwick of Falls Church, VA, Christina and Robbie Jackson of Universal City, TX; great-great grandchildren, Ashley Patterson of AZ and Darian Pitts of CO. She is also survived by her baby brother, Benard Salinas and sister-in-law Guadalupe of San Antonio and many nieces and nephews. She leaves special grandson Dave Kerner, Loving caregiver Betty Hinsley and her Angel of Mercy, nurse Cheryl Galvan and all of the Odyssey Hospice Staff, especially Pamela Ostmen.

A memorial service will be held at Mission Park Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX on September 12, 2005, with eulogy delivered by Rev. Monica C. Lemmer. Funeral services will be at 7:00 a.m., September 13, 2005 at St. Gregory Church, Dewhurst, Texas. Interment will be at San Fernando #2 Cemetery.

Mary will be missed so very, very much, but she will always be in our hearts.
