Funeral services for Stuart Wallace Chalmers, 88, of Conroe, TX will be held Saturday, November 12, 2005, at 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Bobby Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery with Cashner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, November 11, 2005, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.
Mr. Chalmers was born November 15, 1916 in Houston, TX and went Heaven to join his loving wife, Hazel, on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, where together, they will celebrate his 89th birthday. He retired from Shell Oil Company in Deer Park, Texas after 37 years of dedicated service as a machinist.
Stuart was preceded in death by The love of his life, Hazel Chalmers, his parents, step-mother, one sister, five brothers, one step-son, numerous relatives, friends and last week by a very dear friend and neighbor Robert Partridge. Rusty or Pop, as he was called by his family and friends, is survived by one sister, Gladys Cobb; his three sons, David and Jeri Chalmers, Joel and Fran Chalmers, and Wallace and Janice Chalmers; three step-daughters, Vickie Hensley, Sandy Mansfield, and Diane Stephens. Numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive. Pallbearers: Jeremy Chalmers, Jason Chalmers, David Martinez, Richard Martinez, James Hoke, James Ballinger, Patrick West, and Martin Pike. The Honorary Pallbearer is Robert Partridge.
Pop was bigger than life and full of love for The Lord, his family and friends. He will be remembered for his humanitarian concern for all he came in contact with, even if they were strangers. His family takes comfort from knowing that he left them peacefully and is now at rest. Special thanks to the staff at Conroe Regional Medical Ceneter and especially to Dr. Berwick.
