Funeral services for Peyton Taylor Pitts, Jr., 76 of Conroe will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 10 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Dee Black officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 16, 2005 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
Mr. Pitts was born on September 3, 1929 in Conroe, Texas and passed away on December 14, 2005 in Conroe, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge in Conroe and served as a trustee for many years.
Peyton is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Pitts of Conroe; daughters, Cherie Woods of Alabama and Cindy Mize and husband Freddy of Huntsville; son, Peyton Pitts III and wife Mary of Georgia; sister, Jane Evelyn Ringo and husband Ray of Trinity; nephew, Peyton Herkey Mullins and wife Vicki of Tyler; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive. Pallbearers: Al Mata, Guy Schulze, Dennis Ash, Bubba Burk, Ron Francois, and Earl Dunn. Honorary pallbearers: Bill Conroe and Henry Smokey Schulze.
