Funeral services for Charles Kile Vaughn, 86, of Conroe will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Mr. John Helbig and Mr. Joe Goodspeed officiating. Entombment will follow in Garden Park Cemeterys Chapel in the Park Mausoleum. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 10, 2006 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
Mr. Vaughn was born on August 9, 1919 in Greenville, Texas to Charlie Baker and Henrietta Lynch Vaughn and passed away on February 8, 2006 in Conroe, Texas. He served in the Army Corp of Engineers in WWII and received the Silver Star for meritorious service in Cherboure. He retired as a Major. Charles worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital from 1948 until his retirement in 1974.
Charles was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Vaughn of Conroe; daughter, Donna Young and husband Terry of Conroe; son, Sam Vaughn and wife Marsha of Bella Vista, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kristina Young Murphey and husband Michael, Kimberly Young Gapinski and husband Michael, Matthew Vaughn and wife Jennifer, Gena Vaughn McGee and husband Josh, and Laura Vaughn; great grandchildren, Brayden Vaughn, Alexandra Vaughn and Donovan Gapinski; brother, Boyd Vaughn of Rockwall, Texas.
