Funeral services for Marcia Black, 86, of Conroe will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, Riverside, Texas with Rev. Warren Austin officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Huntsville.
Marcia Hinds Black was born on March 9, 1920 in Chandler, Texas and went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 10, 2006 at a local hospital surrounded by her family. She graduated from Tyler High School in 1937. She and her husband of 64 years, Leonard Black, ran a country store in Tuleta, Texas for 40 years before retiring in 1991. They resided in Carolina Cove subdivision outside Riverside, Texas for 13 years where they were active members of First United Methodist Church at Riverside. They spent the last 2 years at Hearthstone Assisted Living in Conroe, Texas. They had just moved recently to Park Manor Nursing Home in Conroe. She was a wonderful Christian wife and mother who truly loved her family and friends. She will truly be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Leonard Black; daughter, Paula Shepherd and husband Bob of Conroe; son, Marvin Leonard Black Jr. and wife Nell of San Antonio; brothers, Bill Hinds and wife Juanita of Flint and Calvin Hinds of Huntsville; sister, Ruth James and husband Charlie of Honolulu, Hawaii; grandchildren, Stacey French and husband Jason of Spring, Laura Kirkham and husband Matt of The Woodlands, Elizabeth Rosenauer of Fort Worth, and Brooke Rosenauer of San Antonio.
