Funeral services for Victor Manuel Morales Sr., 79, of The Woodlands will be held on Friday, July 21, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Monsignor George Scheltz officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled prior to the service on Friday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Tela Atlantida, Honduras C.A. on September 24, 1936, he lived in San Pedro Sula, Honduras C.A. and then in New Orleans, Louisiana for 44 years. Due to Hurricane Katrina, he was living in The Woodlands, Texas when he died on July 17, 2006 of cardiac failure at the age of 79 years.
Victor was a shoe maker/repairer. He was a Soccer player for approximately 30 years. His father, Victoriano Romero, his mother, Virginia Morales Short, and his daughter, Betty Olivia Morales, all preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Isabel Gutierrez de Morales; children, Isabel Morales-Meilleur, Maria Morales-Pico, Victor Jr., Julio Cesar, Virginia Maria, Jorge Vinicio, and Olga Marina; two sons-in-law, Marcel Meilleur Jr., and Andres Pico; two daughters-in-law, Janet and Lourdes; sisters, Isabel Knox and Betty Castro; brother, George Short; 18 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive.
